Starting with a Single Penny

A single coin from the start, a tycoon by the end?

Xin Ran was told she had a terminal illness that couldn't be treated with current technology.

So she chose to "go into temporary hibernation," hoping that by the time she woke up, effective treatment would be available.

Unfortunately, she was so broke that all she had left was a single coin.

Just as she was about to enter hibernation, she heard the hibernation pod calling her.

Then she was taken to Akasis.

"Come to Akasis."

"Wealth will be the least remarkable thing you possess in the future."

Penniless, Xin Ran went to school hoping to make money, only to find a whole stack of exams waiting for her.

To test her so-called mental power, she had to enter one bizarre instance after another.

With the horns of a cattle rustler on her head, she entered an animal farm ruled by pigs. She drew the most useless lottery ticket and entered a giant rotating wheel where she could never stop moving. Then she was guided through a battle royale by a ditzy AI assistant who was a master of sarcastic backhanded compliments...

It was exhausting, but she wouldn't die and could earn a scholarship, so Xin Ran put up with it.

The unfortunate thing was that she seemed to have been chosen by something.

She was the only person in the entire academy dragged into instances outside of the exams.

The promised infirmary became a bizarre hospital where doctors and nurses chased her down, trying to turn her into a skinned corpse specimen. An ordinary little tavern transformed into a slaughterhouse, where humans were livestock raised by monsters to be butchered...

In those places, there was no mental power. Death was death.

Xin Ran: "...I really want to run off with the money."
