Qin Xu is a diligent media workhorse who works as a radio producer, as well as an author whose writing is practically unknown. After work, his only hobby is listening to audio dramas, listening to audio dramas, and listening to audio dramas.
And he only listens to audio dramas voiced by He Huo, a voice actor who was once famous throughout the dubbing scene, but disappeared six years ago.
On his first day back after taking annual leave, he meets his new colleague, Yu Gongqiu.
His new colleague has a lovely voice and striking good looks, but everything he does is increasingly baffling:
First, he gets Qin Xu's name wrong, then ingratiatingly tells him he's heard so much about him.
Then he stays behind after the show and makes up a story about Qin Xu wanting to go on a blind date with him.
And while Qin Xu is still struggling to process the bombshell that Yu Gongqiu married young and abandoned his wife and child, Yu Gongqiu rushes over to confess to him.
Qin Xu: ...
What is this guy's problem?
Yu Gongqiu left the national broadcasting network to become a host at a small radio station on the fringes of a second-tier city. Everyone thought there had to be something wrong with him.
Was he too emotionally fragile to handle the pressure and workload at the national network?
Was his emotional intelligence so low that he'd gotten caught up in office politics and pushed out?
Was he so bad at his job that his disciplinary penalties outnumbered his paychecks, and he couldn't keep it up?
He didn't explain. He just agreed with them: Yep, that's right.
After meeting his new colleague Qin Xu, Yu Gongqiu felt as if all the supposed problems he'd never actually had had disappeared overnight.
His new colleague had a slim waist and long legs, and a smile like a spring breeze.
His new colleague was gentle, refined, and immensely talented.
What a shock: his new colleague even had a secret identity.
What a coincidence. So did I.
