This Novel’s Blurb
After sending off her final PhD application email, Ding Yue suddenly stopped breathing and died in the lab.
When she opened her eyes again, she had somehow ended up in a war-torn dynasty, in the body of a married woman.
She had parents-in-law, but no children. Her husband was away serving in the army, and she had never met him.
The family of three was desperately poor. They had spent their only savings on a doctor for the original owner, and now all they could drink was watery wild-vegetable soup so thin she could see her reflection in it.
There wasn’t enough to eat or decent clothes to wear. Ding Yue was so weak she felt she might close her eyes and never open them again.
That wouldn’t do!
In her previous life, she’d been a rising star in scientific research, but her chance to make a difference had been cut short before she could shine.
This time, she was determined to
“Ding! The Academic Exchange System is at your service, devoted to helping you achieve your dream of earning a PhD.”
It could connect her across time and space with PhD advisors from every discipline, provide one-on-one, hands-on instruction, break down barriers between fields to encourage interdisciplinary research, and use modern technology to advance an ancient world…
So Ding Yue studied one subject after another, made money one way after another, and invented thing after thing…
She brought out icy jelly, spicy malatang, and little cakes, followed by fried chicken, milk tea, and hamburgers. But good food wasn’t enough; she needed some light industry, too, so she got wool sweaters woven. Once food and clothing were taken care of, they needed housing and transportation, so she built houses and paved roads with cement.
The once-impoverished Changhe Village gradually became a modernized village, taking its first steps toward shared prosperity.
Everything had been going smoothly until a man suddenly appeared, claiming to be her husband, and sent Ding Yue into a panic.
She’d been so busy building her career that she’d completely forgotten she was married.
Was she really supposed to share a bed with him without any preparation?
Ding Yue looked at his strong, handsome features and well-defined abs. Maybe she wouldn’t mind after all.
(A fantasy born from what happens when a research workhorse goes crazy)
Reading Guide:
① No awful relatives, just a family supporting one another and working hard to get by.
② The male lead appears late. In the early chapters, he’s mostly present in conversations.
③ A slow-burn farming story.
Set in a fictional dynasty, with plenty of author-invented details. The plot requires it, so please don’t overanalyze.
Water-Colored Romance Blurb
By a twist of fate, Shen Ruohan ended up in the swimming class with the highest failure rate.
She’d been afraid of water since childhood and couldn’t afford lessons, so it took her just one second to accept her roommate’s suggestion.
Find a boyfriend who can swim.
As it happened, her club was holding a friendly competition with the university swim team.
The handsome men and women were all tall, long-legged, and well-proportioned, clearly excellent swimmers. Shen Ruohan was delighted by the sight.
Just as she found a seat and prepared to watch closely, a gleaming white, perfectly defined set of abs blocked her view.
Then Jiang Yu’an’s voice came from above, sounding faintly aggrieved.
“Am I not enough for you to look at?”
