Hu Xi is the pampered princess of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, protected so thoroughly that she never leaves her older sister's side. As a result, she has never taken cultivation seriously. The only exception is her flying technique, which she mastered to keep up with her sister, making her hard to beat in the air...
But that wretched phoenix has been gone with her sister for four whole days!
For the first time, Hu Xi feels truly useless, so she resolves to improve her cultivation. The fastest method she can think of is the secret technique of her fox clan: dual cultivation through essence harvesting!
Hu Xi thinks herself incredibly lucky. Just as she comes up with this brilliant plan, she spots a mortal man who looks quite delicious, too!
So, convinced she's clever, Hu Xi resorts to threats and temptations, ready to begin her essence-harvesting journey...
But why has the essence harvesting they agreed on turned into dual cultivation instead?
Because of an internal conflict in the Dragon Clan, Long Mu is badly wounded and flees to the mortal realm. After sealing his powers, he becomes a crown prince. If he lives out his natural lifespan, he will regain his cultivation...
One day, he falls into an ambush and tumbles into Dream Miasma Mountain, at the boundary between the Upper Realm and the mortal world. When he comes to, he finds that a fox spirit has saved him...
The fox spirit demands he repay her by marrying her. But Long Mu takes one look and sees that she has clearly set up an essence-harvesting formation!!!
And it's set up wrong, too!!
Looking at the fox spirit's beautiful, foolish face, Long Mu thinks: You came right to my door of your own accord!
A few things to know:
1. The heroine grows over the course of the story. At first, she has absolutely no common sense about how the world works, so she's easy to fool. But she is also carefree and not the self-sacrificing type.
2. One-on-one romance, both leads are virgins, with a bit more focus on the romantic plot.
3. A wholly fictional setting with original worldbuilding. Any resemblance is purely coincidental!
