School life | Childhood sweethearts | Rivals to lovers | Sweet romance
Brave-but-timid, lively little sunshine x aloof, scheming, ultra-cool heartthrob
If you ask what it's like to live an absurd life, Jiang Wu has the best answer.
Getting confessed to just after the start of senior year is one thing, but the person who confessed is the childhood sweetheart she's treated as a sworn enemy for eighteen years.
That night, Jiang Wu fled right under his nose, muttering to herself:
"I haven't even pulled an all-nighter. How am I already having a nightmare?"

Jiang Wu has a childhood sweetheart named Chen Ji.
He's 188 centimeters tall, with pale, cool-toned skin, and has ranked first in his grade since childhood.
To outsiders, he's an idol everyone else can only admire from afar.
Others think they're an enviable pair of childhood sweethearts. To Jiang Wu, he's the sworn enemy Heaven sent to punish her.
They've fought since childhood, but when their hearts began to stir in their youth, they hit a cold spell, as if a barrier had come between them.
But no one knows that Chen Ji has a spectator missing from every one of his basketball games.
Jiang Wu is used to watching the carefree boy from a distance across the sports field. She looks up as a beautiful three-pointer arcs through the air, while the red string on his wrist remains as new as ever, carefully protected.
She pauses for just a moment, then quietly looks away.
During the summer after the college entrance exam, Jiang Wu gets blackout drunk, determined to use alcohol for courage and clear the air between them.
But she may have overdone it a little.
Because she blacked out.
The next morning, Jiang Wu wakes in an unfamiliar room and warily looks at Chen Ji in front of her.
"What did you do to me?"
Chen Ji gives a cold laugh, though there's no warmth in it. "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"
Right in front of her, he slowly unbuttons his shirt. Jiang Wu sees that from his neck down to his collarbones, he's covered in densely packed bite marks.
Some are deep, some faint, and a few have even scabbed over with blood.
"I bit you?"
Jiang Wu instantly feels guilty.
"Who else would have done it?"
"Then why didn't you push me away?" Jiang Wu says, trying to save face.
"I did."
"What?"
Chen Ji glances at her, his tone icy. "You bit me harder."

At a class reunion not long after the exam results come out, someone starts teasing Chen Ji and asking about his score.
He has been silent all along, but now he turns, sets the shrimp he peeled in front of Jiang Wu, and, in the face of everyone's astonished looks, casually asks her,
"Baby, how many points do you think I got?"
Jiang Wu's chopsticks are poised to pick up a shrimp when her hand suddenly trembles. "…"
