Drowned in the Sea on a Rainy Night
Seventeen-year-old Lin Yu is a dying butterfly in a torrential downpour. Twenty-three-year-old Yu Shangli is a languid cat in a tavern.
When Lin Yu, covered in wounds, stumbles into "Fusheng," Yu Shangli weaves a net of tenderness and traps her in a warm cage. Amid the scent of wine and the sound of rain, they tend to each other's wounds, believing they can withstand the malice of the whole world.
But Lin Yu's soul is already shattered. When the shadow of bullying falls over her once more, and the darkness within devours the last glimmer of light, she chooses the most final way to say goodbye: she leaps into the icy sea.
Yu Shangli keeps watch over the empty tavern, waiting in her hallucinations for the butterfly who will never return. The light that once illuminated Lin Yu ultimately becomes the shackles imprisoning her.
Some forms of salvation are destined to end in tragedy.
