At the start of their second year of high school, students are assigned to classes according to their grades. Zhou Qian, the icy top student who has held first place in the year for years, and Xu Ci, the warm-on-the-outside, cool-on-the-inside scholar who always ranks second, unexpectedly become desk mates.
