Synopsis

The male protagonist's transmigration was utterly ordinary.

His little brain couldn't yet handle his enormous mental activity, so his mental powers took it upon themselves to seal away his memories. Pampered as a male Zerg, the protagonist developed a bad case of chuunibyou, hid his gender, and went to class with the female Zerg. He even raised a guy who opposed him every day. They say hardship makes a man and comfort ruins him, and the protagonist was very conscious of the need for hardship.

As a result, he gave his rival resources and fights, and watched him grow from a spiky-haired boy into an icy, distant man. The protagonist thought his rival still couldn't stand him. Little did he know that every day, the man was coming up with new ways to court death just to get his attention.

If I can't be your lover, I can still be your one and only enemy.

The story of the protagonist's good friend, biologist Solaris, is in the other book, The Male Zerg Researcher Is Getting Promoted.

Theme: Helping each other through thick and thin, and loving and hating each other

Unconventional Insectoid Stories (Updates in the Comments)

Some insectoid stories with plots and settings that don’t follow the usual formula. This list is mainly for my own reference, and most involve the protagonists suffering, so please check for potential dealbreakers.

Personal Book List: Protagonists Who Top

Saving all the fully purchased novels I've read with an attack-side protagonist. I'm not fixated on either role, and I don't try to be impartial: one book might lean toward the attack side, the next toward the receiving side. As long as the CP is fun to ship, I'll read it. Just don't let my tastes jumpscare you.
