Ning Wu, a nonhuman child, opens his eyes and finds himself inside a famous comic, as a background NPC whose only appearance is a blurry silhouette.
A System claiming to be the consciousness of the comic tells him that this world is about to end.
The nonhuman blinks. "What's a comic?"
The System breaks down sobbing.

Curious about the human world, Ning Wu decides to follow the System's advice, disguise himself as a human, and enroll in the First Esper Academy as the protagonist's classmate... while also trying to save the world.
By a twist of fate, the protagonist becomes not only his classmate, but his friend... and his babysitter?
Ning Wu: "Xiaoshi, can I eat this?"
The protagonist glances over in the middle of a busy day and sighs in relief. "Yes."

Different Colors is a hit new shonen manga. In its story, a sudden natural disaster changes everything. Land masses move on their own, bloodthirsty and cruel mutants roam the earth, and only a portion of humanity has awakened supernatural abilities and can barely hold the last line of civilization.
After enduring one crisis after another, the protagonist, Wen Shi, finally enters the First Esper Academy with his companions.
At the academy, he makes a new friend: a naive, slow-witted boy with no common sense and a mysterious identity. He seems to have suffered a tragic past, his pure white exterior hiding countless painful scars.
And because of that, he acts cruelly and without restraint.
He becomes an overnight sensation. The forum mourns the tragic past it imagines for him, argues endlessly over his morally ambiguous nature, and racks its brains over his true identity...
Until the protagonist is trapped in a desperate battle, suffering terribly. The pure white figure he has always protected and cared for suddenly raises a hand.
An all-enveloping black mist blankets everything. Unfathomable red threads bring the villain's fate to an end. The world loses its color, and the wind falls silent--
The figure turns around, standing amid the wreckage of the mutants, and asks with a smile, "Xiaoshi, can I eat this?"

Putting up the blurb for now. I may make some small adjustments, but the general idea won't change.
The protagonist lacks common sense at first, but learns quickly and has a bit of a mischievous streak.
Theme: Don't underestimate the bond between me and a nonhuman!
