The Top Student Likes Me

The aloof top student in the grade: Meng Yu falls for Shen Qin, a school bully with terrible grades who skips class and gets into fights, and whom nobody dares to mess with. At first, Shen Qin isn't interested in Meng Yu, but after a series of events, she falls for her without even realizing it. Later, Meng Yu confesses, saying she doesn't care what other people might say, and Shen Qin agrees to be with her. Their relationship grows stronger, and Shen Qin asks Meng Yu why she likes her, but Meng Yu never gives her a clear answer. They take the college entrance exam together, and Meng Yu tutors Shen Qin, whose grades improve. They end up in the same city. Although they attend different universities, the campuses are close to each other, and they begin their college lives. When they graduate, they make their relationship public. Both Meng Yu's and Shen Qin's parents are very supportive. The two of them also go through a lot together, and their relationship grows even stronger because of it. In the end, they are truly together. Later, Meng Yu tells Shen Qin that she fell for her because she still owed Meng Yu a piece of candy. It happened sometime in sixth grade. Someone followed Meng Yu on her way home, and she was terrified, so she quickened her pace. The person suddenly rushed up and grabbed her, trying to abduct her, and Meng Yu struggled desperately. Just in time, Shen Qin appeared. She had noticed someone following Meng Yu and had gone after them, though she hadn't been sure. Now that she knew for certain, she stepped in to help. She grabbed a broom from the alley and beat the person with it until they ran off, perhaps because they didn't have anything with them. Afterward, Meng Yu kept crying, so Shen Qin gave her a piece of candy and said, "Stop crying. Have some candy!" Then she realized it was her last piece and added, "Oh, right, that's my last piece of candy. If I give it to you, I won't have any left, so I'm not really giving it to you. You have to pay me back tomorrow. You owe me a piece of candy." She'd only said it on a whim. Meng Yu nodded, and Shen Qin asked if she was hurt. Once she was sure Meng Yu was all right, she left. As she went, she heard Meng Yu call out, "Thank you..." But the next day, Meng Yu suddenly transferred schools for some reason, and her family moved away too. She never forgot Shen Qin. Later, when she found out which high school Shen Qin had applied to, she went there too. Because she had such good grades, when she asked to be placed in the same class as Shen Qin in their second year, all the teachers disagreed. But then she said she could help Shen Qin improve her grades, and they agreed. And so their story began.
