Ming Lingyu, the top x Shi Jing, the bottom
Ming Lingyu, one of the supervisors at the Space-Time Administration, casually picked a small world for a vacation. As it happened, something went wrong there: the vicious male supporting character in the original storyline had died unexpectedly. He immediately had the central System dispatch a task-taker to keep the main plot on track.
The new task-taker was urgently borrowed from the neighboring Overpowered Hero group. But this straight-as-a-rail guy had wandered into a pure-romance world. When Ming Lingyu took a moment to check on him, the guy was arguing with his System about keeping his eight-pack abs...
System: The male lead only has a six-pack, and you've got two more than him! You really plan to show up looking this ripped and compete with the refined, graceful, gentle yet strong, peerlessly elegant male lead? Anyone who knows better would think you're here to be the third party. Anyone who doesn't would think you're going to punch the male lead and kick the male lead's love interest! My goodness! Shi Jing: I'd rather die than take one!
Every trade has its own rules, I guess. This little world has some seriously bizarre standards of beauty. That cheap younger brother of mine is nearly skin and bone. What exactly is so peerlessly elegant about him?!

Ming Lingyu had enjoyed enough of his employee's antics. Thinking that stepping in to rescue someone from another field wasn't easy, and that he might as well help, he magnanimously flicked a finger and took the slimming pills off the market on the other side.
The latest gossip in the capital was enough to make one's heart ache. Word had it that the emperor's most beloved younger brother, Prince Yu Ming Lingyu, a refined gentleman as lovely as a tree of jade and a forest of gems, had apparently fallen in love at first sight with Shi Jing, the illegitimate eldest son of the Minister of Rites, recently brought back from the countryside. He treated him with special consideration at every turn!
The trouble was, Shi Jing was not only crude but also astonishingly ungrateful. He kept Prince Yu dangling while trying to steal a marriage arrangement from his legitimate younger brother. He was transparently stupid and blatantly wicked, yet Prince Yu day after day continued to indulge and favor this thoroughly unworthy scoundrel.
And so the capital's powerful families were treated to one infuriating spectacle after another:
Shi Jing gets caught after pulling some dirty trick and is about to be punished, but Prince Yu shows up, takes his side, and leads him away. Shi Jing gets his marriage contract back, only for his fiancé to humiliate him in public; the next day, a censor under Prince Yu impeaches the fiancé, who is demoted by three ranks. Shi Jing is mocked and belittled at a banquet, so Prince Yu composes a poem for him that amazes everyone...
