Cold-faced, fatherly wolf x timid little ray of sunshine
Shi Jiu transmigrates into a vicious cannon-fodder character in a modern urban supernatural novel aimed at male readers. In the original story, he antagonizes the male lead and meets a gruesome end. To stay alive, he decides to cling to the male lead.
But the stupid System wants Shi Jiu to maintain his villainous persona, so it deliberately alters everything he says.
When Shi Jiu, eyes rimmed red and trembling like a little quail, begs the male lead, “Please don’t hit me. Could you just pretend I’m an idiot?”
The System smiles faintly, and the male lead hears: “Hit me, idiot.”
Shi Jiu decides to fight back by deliberately mixing Chinese and English.
He bows to the man earnestly. “Please forgive me. What happened that day was really sowwy.”
The System smiles faintly, and the male lead hears: “You’re really hot.”
And so, wearing the sweetest, most timid pretty face, he says the nastiest, most provocative things.
The poor thing bursts into tears: “Aaaaaah, look at the tears in my eyes! I swear I’m not being a brat on purpose!”
One night, Shi Jiu finally can’t take it anymore and tearfully begs for mercy. “Waaah, I didn’t eat dinner, I’m out of energy. Please let me go.”
The male lead had been holding back, afraid of hurting him, but hears: “You haven’t eaten?”
Shi Jiu: “...”
Help!
Zhao Yi is cold and ruthless, focused entirely on revenge. Then a vicious, useless rich young master starts clinging to him. The other man insults and provokes him, always wearing a captivating face and looking at him with downcast, pitiful eyes, only to say: “Hit me, idiot.”
Zhao Yi decides to put up with him for now. Once he achieves his great ambition, he’ll deal with this useless pretty boy.
So he takes the little brat into dungeons with a cold face, teaches him martial arts with a cold face, and makes his bed with a cold face.
Later, he accomplishes all his goals. The only thing left is to deal with the young master, but the boy falls into the sea and disappears.
Zhao Yi stands blankly by the shore, his soul gone with him.
The original story ends perfectly, and Shi Jiu successfully fakes his death and sets off to enjoy his new life.
But the moment the world slips out of the System’s control, the barrier in Zhao Yi’s mind suddenly vanishes. At last, he learns what Shi Jiu had really been saying all along.
He remembers the little quail’s trembling voice saying, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” “Zhao Yi, I don’t want to die,” and “Goodbye, Zhao Yi. I hope you’ll be happy.”
The suppressed emotions erupt. Furious at learning he’d been deceived by the System, the chosen one tears through the world itself.
Zhao Yi exhausts his inner strength to forcibly drag the System out from beyond the world. His eyes bloodshot, he nearly crushes it as he says, word by word, “Give my A Jiu back to me.”
