[An intricate, interconnected survival-game plot + a cool-headed, warm-hearted, all-around heroine + a frail support-type hero who can lift a massive axe with his bare hands]
After graduating, Xin Lan found a job with benefits and weekends off. She'd planned to live a quiet, slacker's life as an office clerk, until one day:
At 9:30 a.m. in Licheng's home furnishings mall, the sky was as black as ink, and fish eyes tapped at the windows. The office's glass doors turned into a strange, sealed exit.
Suddenly, a coworker's scream came over the intercom. The whole mall lost power, green blood seeped from the bottoms of phones, and a mechanical child's voice drifted down the hallway:
[Do you hate going to work, but fear losing your job?]
[Do you hate your coworkers and your boss, and wish you could get rid of them?]
[Dear wage slaves, welcome to the mall survival game. From now on, overtime is a perk, and dying on the job counts as a work-related injury~]
The protagonists of classic horror movies became NPCs. The coworkers slacking off in the restroom turned into brain-eating zombies. Mattress salespeople wore funeral clothes and eagerly grabbed passing customers: "Imported mattresses for a peaceful, eternal sleep! Buy one and get a wake package free, with lifelong funeral wailing!"
While everyone else slacked off at work, Xin Lan was fighting for her life. Her coworkers were paralyzed with fear, her boss had given up, and she had a sickly weakling dragging her down. She was the only one left calmly searching for a way out.
Just as the System was about to force her out, her sickly coworker hoisted a fire axe. One swing, one chop, and the NPC's head was separated from its body, leaving her with the sight of his pale, slender figure from behind.
Xin Lan: "...Fra-il?"
Theme: Face difficulties with courage.
