Note: This is a story about the First Emperor being reborn. If you like love stories, start reading from Chapter 41.
In her previous life, she was the queen who vanished from his harem.
In this life, she is a princess of Qi and an inheritor of Mohist teachings, a complete stranger to him.
He comes bearing memories of his previous life, conceals his identity as an emperor, and approaches her as an ordinary man. He only wants to turn all the debts he owes her from their past life into sweetness in this one.
She thinks theirs is nothing more than a chance encounter and the bond between master and disciple.
Only on the night she sees through the workings of fate does she suddenly realize...
The person in his story who "loved so deeply that they could not live long" was actually her.
He guards the imperial mausoleum, unwilling to be reincarnated.
So she uses every art of the Mohists, making the Nine Cauldrons its bones and mechanisms its veins, and spends her whole life building him an underground kingdom that will never fall.
At the moment the Nine Cauldrons sink into their slots in the Qin mausoleum's underground palace, heaven and earth change color and thunderbolts strike from the sky.
She looks up at the flashes of lightning splitting the sky.
"The empire may collapse, but this tomb won't." She turns to look at him, her eyes reflecting lightning and fire.
"Isn't this the eternal life you wanted?"
His fingers tremble so badly he cannot hold his sword.
"Did you do all this for this tomb?"
"For you!"
He strides forward, the lightning illuminating half his face in flickering light and shadow. His eyes roil with a desolate wilderness and an empty phoenix throne.
"Then tell me... all those years, when I traveled across the four seas and eight wildernesses, traversing every inch of the land and searching every city, where had my queen gone?"
He draws closer, his voice so hoarse the words barely come out.
"You sought eternity for me, and for this tomb that will never fall... but do you know?"
Thunder swallows the rest of his sentence.
But the words in his eyes weigh more than the thunder.
"Living forever... is no match for seeing you often."

I have read Qin Lian since I was in elementary school. The author's writing style is very good. I really like it. I highly recommend it!!!!
I really like the hot spring setting in the ancient novel, the scene where the male and female protagonists are rubbing each other's ears and temples together during the period of their deepest affection~
A sweet moment for the young couple! So happy, always be sweet and happy [Rose]

This chapter was so heartbreaking to read... Heaven sets a trap, and cause and effect are a prison. They are each other's only variables, and they are also doomed.
