The story takes place after the Shenghua Kingdom is conquered by the Lingyue Kingdom. The royal family is destroyed, and the people suffer. Yingyue, the personal maid of the Princess of Shenghua, is separated from her mistress in the chaos and captured by soldiers from Lingyue. Along the way, she witnesses the enemy soldiers' brutality and the suffering of the people of Shenghua, igniting a fierce desire to restore her kingdom.
Yingyue is assigned to work as a scullery maid in the general's residence. Cautious and discreet, she secretly observes what goes on in the household, hoping to find an opportunity to restore her kingdom. By chance, she learns that the residence holds important military intelligence. She risks stealing it and passing it to the former officials of Shenghua. However, her actions arouse the suspicions of a Lingyue strategist, plunging her into a perilous situation.
Despite the many difficulties, Yingyue never backs down. She keeps navigating danger, providing intelligence to the rebel army. In the end, the counterattack fails, and Yingyue is captured while protecting the former officials. At the execution ground, dreaming of her kingdom's restoration, she closes her eyes with regret and indignation. Though the dream of restoring Shenghua is buried for now, Yingyue's spirit will inspire those who come after her forever.
