It took Lu Jingchen ten years to climb from a subdivided flat in Sham Shui Po to an office tower in Central.
The blockchain settlement system he founded could complete international transfers in three minutes, directly threatening Hong Kong's century-old financial order.
At a financial summit, he openly challenged the traditional banks.
In the front row, Shen Shijun, the third-generation heir to the Shen Group and a former senior regulator at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses and made a note of the name.
That evening, they ran into each other in an elevator.
"Mr. Lu wants to overturn the rules?" Shen Shijun smiled. "What a coincidence. I'm the one who makes them."
A business marriage was quickly arranged:
15% of Chenxing Technology's shares in exchange for the Shen Group's full support.
Shen Shijun would also personally serve as a director, while publicly taking on the role of "close business partner."
Lu Jingchen thought it was nothing more than a deal.
Until he discovered that the black diamond earring his mother left behind was one of a pair, with its match in Mrs. Shen's jewelry box.
Until a financial scandal from twenty years ago resurfaced, with all the evidence pointing to his late mother.
Until Shen Shijun chose true feelings over his family.
"Jingchen," Shen Shijun said, taking his hand on a stormy night, "I'm tired of playing this game."
"Why don't we make new rules? No one above or below the other, just standing side by side."
Theme: In a world where everyone calculates their own interests, there are still people who choose to measure what is true in their hearts.
What are you doing when you close the door?
Ah, ah, ah, screaming, dark, twisted, crawling.
After reading it for about three hours, I finally finished it. The author is great, and he has written so many extras, which are sweet, but I still can't figure out who is at the top and who is at the bottom. Madam, can you write something slightly yellow? Don't be too obscene, just let me know who is on top and who is on bottom. [Heartbroken][Heartbroken][Heartbroken]
