In the winter of the twenty-third year of Tianyuan, Liu Xu survived the night his village was slaughtered. Reduced to a beggar, he eventually joined the Black Wind Stronghold. One snowy night, he rescued the pursued young nobleman Shen Qinglan in a ruined temple. He taught him to read, practice martial arts, identify poisons, and understand people's hearts. Liu Xu respected and loved him, giving him his whole heart. Together, they took revenge and traveled far to Jiangnan, where they bought a little house by West Lake, planted plum trees, and vowed to "spend the rest of their lives together."
Until Liu Xu opened that rosewood box...
