She Who Is the Insect Queen

Ivy was shoved into the swarm when the insect tide descended.

The giant insects were hideous, their bodies twisted and their compound eyes cold and crimson. They stared at her, surged toward her from every direction, and swallowed her whole.

Ivy thought she was done for, but they didn't kill her. Instead, they hid her inside their bodies and carried her back to their nest.

"You are our Mother of Insects, our queen." The hideous giant insects crouched beside her. Their mouthparts vibrated, yet they spoke in human voices. "You rule the fate of our entire species and possess absolute authority. You may command us, look down on us, stand above us, and enslave us."

"Our one and only mission is to find you, serve you, and please you." Bathed in blood, they transformed into beautiful, powerful human men. They took her hand and seated her upon a dazzling, ornate throne of gemstones.

Then they knelt deeply before her.

But there wasn't a trace of humanity in their eyes.

Only the greedy, ugly, terrifying longing of beasts.

"Please, Queen, have mercy on us. Grant us your favor..." they murmured, crowding around her, their eyes filled with mad, terrifying desire. They craved her gaze, her touch, her scent.

Obsession, consumption, possession, endless desire.

Ivy recoiled in terror.
