Yao Cencuan, under the alias "Thirty-Four," sneaks into the caravan her father had illegally put together.
The sky is vast and the sea wide. Soaring free is far more thrilling than being cooped up in a tiny inner chamber.
Unfortunately, the wishes of those caught in a time of chaos rarely come true.
War broke out overnight, plunging the land into turmoil. At sixteen, she was no more than a drifting leaf in the storm.
Through all the ups and downs, she never dared forget the word revenge.
She had thought she was destined to walk alone for the rest of her life, until she saw the old friend who had long been dead, standing at the far end of the flames, dark currents churning in their eyes.
"Young master, long time no see."
Note:
1. First, thank you all for reading my little story. I'm an average writer with plenty of room to improve, and since the story involves ancient history, I may get things wrong that seem like common knowledge to you. There are plenty of shortcomings, so please feel free to point them out. I'll do my best to improve.
2. Because of my limitations, this story is slow-paced and takes a serious approach. It's about the country's enmity and family vendettas, so it isn't especially cheerful, nor is it the sort of story where the heroine triumphs spectacularly at every turn.
3. I'm trying hard to show that the heroine is a little unhinged and will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals, with little regard for morality. If that's not for you, please be kind to the author and don't be too harsh. Of course, it's also possible my writing isn't good enough to convey this. Readers who enjoy this sort of thing, please bear with me.
4. This is an ensemble cast. It's my first time writing a story with a "sea of people" in it, so it might feel scattered and chaotic. I hope you'll give me a chance, stick around for a couple of chapters, and see if you like it.
