My New Bride Is My Love Rival

An imperial decree arranging a marriage between the Shen and Su families shattered the peace in the capital

Who didn't know that the eldest Miss of the Su family loved fine clothes, not men, and had given her whole heart to the Third Princess?

And that good-for-nothing from the Shen family was also hopelessly in love with the Third Princess.

The two rivals who couldn't stand each other were actually going to become spouses!

The capital erupted. Everyone wondered if, when the rivals met, they would actually manage to consummate the marriage!

On the eve of the wedding, Su Shaowei stormed into the Shen residence with a sword, pointing it at Shen Minglan's face. Gritting her teeth, she threatened, "Go break off the engagement! I absolutely refuse to marry a good-for-nothing like you!"

Shen Minglan shrugged, saying she couldn't defy the imperial decree, either.

Furious, Su Shaowei brought her sword down.

Shen Minglan was so frightened she clapped a hand over her crotch and backed away, cursing her a shrew.

Later, the two learned that the Third Princess had quickly become engaged to the heir of the Duke of Protecting the Nation in order to put an end to their hopes. Heartbroken and dispirited, they ultimately went through with the wedding.

On their wedding night,

Su Shaowei pinched the red bridal veil, looking disgruntled. "What's so great about that pretty boy that makes her favor him so much?"

Shen Minglan nodded in agreement. "Exactly! He's got nothing going for him but his face. He's even more of a wastrel than I am. Why did she choose him?!"

Su Shaowei turned to look at her, then fell into thought.

After a long while, she narrowed her eyes. "Why don't we join forces first, wreck her engagement, and then compete fairly?"

Shen Minglan stroked her chin. "Works for me."

Then, beneath the glowing red candles, they slapped their hands together in an oath and exchanged smiles.
