High School Girl Life Simulator: a life-management game that supposedly lets exhausted corporate drones return to the carefree days of youth.
At least, that's what the promotional slogan said.
As a corporate drone who'd already graduated, I downloaded the game without hesitation when I saw its gorgeous art, polished production, and clearly organized storylines.
But I think I got scammed.
From the moment I opened my eyes on the first day in the game, why was my task list filled with a bewildering number of missions?
Make breakfast (0/1)
Make a packed lunch (0/1)
Daily study (0/1)
Finish homework (0/1)
Club activity 1: Do the laundry (0/1)
Club activity 2: Refill the water (0/1)
Club activity 3: Mop the floor (0/1)
Club activity 4: Feed bananas to the pudding-head cat (0/1)
Club activity 5: Have a heart-to-heart with the spiky-haired cat (0/1)
Club activity 6: Pluck feathers from the yellow-haired crow (0/1)
Club activity 7: Steal roast meat from the black-and-white owl (0/1)
Wait, what are all these? Do I have to do all of them?
The tasks at the top are pretty normal, but what are those later ones supposed to be?
Don't casually ruin my memories of high school! I just wanted to relive my happy student days and slack off!
"Thank you, Yayoi. I'm so glad you've always been by my side."
"Yayoi, will you always care about me like this?"
"You've always been the one looking after me. I want to... rely on you more from now on."
Huh? What's this? Why did the atmosphere suddenly get so overwhelmingly happy-ending-ish?
Can you play this game like this?
Isn't this supposed to be a laid-back daily-life game? Where did the affection meter come from?
If that's how it is... then I guess I'll play it properly!
