On our tenth wedding anniversary, I received a photo from his mistress, flaunting their relationship.
"Today is my 22nd birthday, and Gu Heng proposed to me. You old woman can't even have children, so why won't you let him go?"
I took out the divorce papers I'd prepared long ago and waited for him until midnight. Gu Heng launched into his usual heartfelt act: "I love you. I'd die if you left me."
In the past, I would have felt sorry for how much he loved me. But now, rows of scrolling comments flashed through my mind.
"This scumbag gets fame and fortune by winning over the heroine. His one condition is that he can't leave her, or he'll die!"
"That's just his true nature. He pretends to be devoted so he can stay alive. The poor heroine has no idea!"
"I don't even need to read what happens next. The heroine will definitely forgive him again!"
Sure enough, I forgave him again.
