When I first started writing, all I wanted was to read a Jujutsu Kaisen otome fic I liked. Since I couldn't find one, I decided to write it myself. It was my first time writing, so my prose was very immature. At first, I could barely even use punctuation correctly. But by now, I think I've improved in those areas. I won't claim to be amazing, but I really have been learning and getting better. (This may sound a little conceited, but I think readers who've followed me from the beginning can definitely see how my writing has changed.)
On August 8, a reader left a nitpick. It wasn't even a comment. Their exact words were: "...This was written by AI, right? It really has a strong AI feel." (I've deleted that comment.)
Why didn't I bring this up sooner? First, I didn't want my readers to feel bad because I was complaining. (After all, people read for fun, not to get upset.) Second, from when I started writing in April through 10:20 p.m. on August 23, this was the first and only comment accusing me of using AI. That reader even used the nitpick feature instead of leaving a proper comment. Third, I don't have time. Readers who know me are aware that I've been busy with work all through August. I just want to put all my time and energy into communicating with and looking after my readers. And who do you think you are, accusing me of using AI? I don't want to play your stupid games...
Honestly, I feel terribly guilty toward my readers, because I can't update daily or give you a steady reading experience. You've stayed with me and witnessed my growth, and I feel incredibly honored and happy about that. You gave me the first experience in my life of feeling recognized.
But on August 20, my friend Yu Youyi was also accused of using AI without a shred of proof. She posted her rebuttal in the author's note for Chapter 26, and her attitude there is my attitude too.
Still, I think I need to address this properly.
To that reader, I don't know if you'll see this. And to anyone else who accuses me of using AI from now on: if you think I'm using AI to write, leave your contact information in the comments and we'll sign a bet. I can livestream myself writing. (Though it'll probably have to be in the early hours, since I usually finish work around 11:30 p.m.)
Or just provide evidence and report me. Everyone can see how harshly Jinjiang cracks down on AI-written fiction, especially when I'm a contracted author.
If I really used AI, I'd have finished this story ages ago by updating ten thousand words a day, instead of dragging myself through work until I'm exhausted, then miserably giving up the half hour I could have spent eating to write...
I wrote all this on scrap paper while slacking off during the morning meeting, then typed it out on my phone. I really don't have time to mess around with you...
I even edited the cover entirely by hand...
Today was supposed to be the weekend, but I had to work overtime and didn't get off until seven in the evening. Still, that was much earlier than usual, so I finally had time to say all this. To the readers who've kept me going, please don't let my words ruin your mood. Just read this and move on. I hope you can all enjoy your lives outside the story, stay happy, and keep healthy.
I'm Huaye Yi, an utterly ordinary high school girl, also known as a JK. At least, I was for the first fifteen years of my life...
An ordinary day, an unremarkable day on cleaning duty, and timid little me, who ran into two guys who looked like delinquents.
A tall man wearing a strange blindfold and a boy with spiky black hair were discussing the death penalty.
Normally, that had nothing to do with me.
But if the person sentenced to death was my classmate, Itadori, then it really did have something to do with me...
And so, after this and that, I became a first-year student at Jujutsu High. Um... I guess I went willingly.
By the way, can you go to college after Jujutsu High? Being a sorcerer and all... sounds pretty terrible, doesn't it?
So I really was set up. The jujutsu higher-ups (who really are capitalists) set me up...
Um... I'm living with my teacher now (for my own safety).
Um... What do you mean I went back to the past?
Um... I became classmates with student Gojo.
Um... Wait! What do you mean I like Gojo?
I'm just genuinely returning the favor for how well my teacher treats me! Genuinely!
Student Gojo: You're so nice to me. What else could it mean if you don't like me?
Gojo at 28: Hello? Am I getting my student back or not?
Warnings: The blurb is in first person and leans comedic, but the story itself is in third person. The romance takes place during Gojo's student days at Jujutsu High, while the teacher Gojo storyline focuses mainly on the protagonist's growth. The protagonist is timid and cowardly early on, so don't read if that's not your thing. The author is a beginner writing her first story, so please don't nitpick the details.
Here's the blurb for one of my upcoming stories. If you like it, please add it to your collection.
"The Troubles of Fellow Cursed Spirit Manipulators"
My only close friend, Kugisaki Nobara, is leaving the rural village where we grew up together to study in the big city of Tokyo.
I've always known that Nobara wanted to escape this ignorant, rotten village. Separations are always painful, but luckily, I can go to Tokyo to study with her.
It's called Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College. Nobara says it's a school for training sorcerers like us.
Actually, I don't want to become a sorcerer, because cursed spirit orbs taste absolutely awful.
But I don't want to be separated from Nobara either, so I still decide to go to Tokyo with her.
Tokyo really is a big city! Everyone has so much personality! (A country girl's amazement.)
Everything about life here is great, except that Gojo-sensei keeps inexplicably asking to have heart-to-hearts with me. How strange.
Sometimes he asks me all sorts of odd questions, like whether I've ever had a rough summer or whether I know a relative with a weird hairstyle.
I hardly ever have rough summers!
Even though I keep emphasizing that, Sensei always takes extra interest in my appetite and weight.
As for knowing someone with a weird hairstyle...
I do...
But... Mr. Geto won't let me tell anyone...
I'm sorry, Gojo-sensei! I lied to you!
