Across the Window
Overworked product manager x calm, reserved creator
Shen Che is the most dependable leek in her boss's eyes, repeatedly shoved into the “pioneer” role. But unlike a leek, which grows back after being cut, she just gets more and more burned out.
On an ordinary, dispirited day, she runs into Lin Wei in the elevator. The person who made a deep impression on her a year ago has become her neighbor?!
So Shen Che makes a bold decision: pretend they don't know each other.
Lin Wei is a rational planner who lives life one step at a time, at her own pace. She quit her job as a financial analyst to become a writer and create content across multiple media platforms.
After meeting Shen Che a year ago, she got the idea to write her first novel.
She did have feelings for Shen Che, but after guessing she was straight, she stuck to her rule of not interfering or making a move.
But now that they've met again, Shen Che is pretending not to know her?!
“Are you a writer?”
“I wouldn't go that far. I just write web novels.” Lin Wei kept her attention on the screen, not wanting to meet Shen Che's eyes.
“Oh? Novels? I read those sometimes. What kind of story is it?”
“It's about two people who used to know each other, but pretend they don't.”
Is it really so hard to say, “I feel like we've met somewhere before”?
Notes:
1. They are two years apart in age. They switch, with the older one leaning toward the top role.
2. Both are pure in body and heart. HE, devoted to one another.
3. Influenced by her traditional family, Shen Che assumes she's straight, so Lin Wei assumes she's straight too. Who could have guessed that after becoming neighbors, Shen Che would be obliviously straight and keep clinging to her?
4. No melodrama, focused on daily life, with a slow, gentle build.
5. They will separate because of real-life circumstances, but get back together after growing independently.
