Su Ye is a star graduate student in botany at an agricultural university, and a seasoned foodie who lives by the motto, "Anything can go in the pot."
While venturing into the mountains in search of a rare wild spice, she tumbles off a cliff with her bamboo basket. When she opens her eyes again, she has transmigrated to a primitive age where people live like beasts.
The primitive people here can tear apart ferocious beasts with their bare hands, but can't even use fire properly.
They eat bloody raw meat and mysterious, charred things, and live in damp, drafty caves crawling with fleas. Su Ye looks at the modern crop seeds clutched in her hand, then at the wild scallions, ginger, garlic, wheat, and untamed potatoes scattered across the ground and mistaken for weeds. The instincts of a top agricultural student and a dedicated foodie kick in hard.
No pots? Shape clay and fire a kiln. Pottery, coming right up!
No salt? Find sumac and refine mineral salt!
No grain? Clear land, plant crops, breed them scientifically, and get the infrastructure going!
At first, the people of the tribe think they've brought home a delicate, useless female.
Then Su Ye makes a pot of rich, savory bone broth and roasts honey-glazed meat sizzling with fat. The whole tribe is so blown away by the aroma that they clamor to work for her. The tribe's fiercest leader quietly sets down his stone axe and willingly becomes her lumberjack. Its nimblest hunter turns into her personal seed-finding radar.
Other people transmigrate to the wilderness and spend every day in a desperate fight for survival.
Su Ye transmigrates to the Great Wilderness and leads her tribe in building wooden houses, making heated brick beds, taming wild boars, and weaving linen. She isn't interested in romance, only building up food and wealth. She turns the brutal law of the jungle into a cozy, comforting farming game, and builds the first thriving city, with cooking smoke curling above its rooftops, on this barren land!
