A male insect died as the empire was on the brink of collapse and was given the chance to live again. This time, he chose to become a female insect. He needed strength.
His former female consort was already the strongest female insect in the country. With the empire on the verge of collapse, the two insects hadn't been able to marry, so he could only perform a simple wedding ceremony for him to trigger a second awakening. Yet even then, he was no match. He was the male insect with the greatest potential, and he needed to bet that he would be stronger after becoming a female insect.
He won. After awakening as an adult, he gained even greater strength. But all he could do was gaze from afar at the female consort from his previous life. In this life, the two of them stood side by side as the empire's twin stars, but marriage was no longer possible.
