Luo Baiyu is the most cherished yin-yang student at the Imperial Observatory. Straightforward and skilled in both letters and arms, she has an unusual fate: auspicious and baleful stars rule her birth chart together, so her life will bring either great joy or great sorrow.

The mountain wind was especially cold that night. She sheathed her blade, built him a tombstone with her own hands, then turned and went down the mountain to marry Xu Lilan.
In the middle of the night after their wedding, she thought in a daze that the mole on her husband's earlobe had vanished, and his manner kept shifting between gentle and overbearing.
Suspicious, she went up the mountain the next day and dug open Xu Xingzhou's grave.
Sure enough, beneath the earth-covered mound, there was nothing but an empty coffin...
