Size difference / male substitute / fake broken-up-then-reunited romance / both are virgins / nonhuman / gradually becoming obsessive lovers
[Devious “good girl” heroine x insecure nonhuman hero]
1.
Six years after breaking up with her first love, Xue Xihe has tried being with other people and tried numbing her feelings with work.
Countless attempts have failed to make her completely let go of this romance that never had a chance to bloom, but time has helped her forget.
Just as Xue Xihe is congratulating herself for barely thinking about her first ex-boyfriend for a month, he comes back.
He has the same voice and the same mole at the corner of his lips.
Even the upturned corners of his eyes and the drooping ends of his brows are exactly as they were when she first met him.
Her unresolved feelings flare up again. Their reason for breaking up was so absurd that she gathers her courage and decides to give him another try.
Though the person in front of her seems different in some way.
The shirt he used to wear with several buttons undone has been replaced by a tight black one.
His speech is no longer drawn out and full of roundabout turns. Now he speaks so directly that his voice seems almost devoid of inflection.
The flamboyant smile she remembers is gone. His face is cold and distant, and his gaze on her feels almost tangible.
At first, though, Xue Xihe only thinks it strange.
Her ex-boyfriend seems to have gone from overtly flirtatious to a different kind of subdued flirt.
Until his gaze, which initially lasted only a few minutes, keeps growing longer, edging toward twenty-four hours a day.
In the end, Xue Xihe can’t even escape those eyes in her dreams.
But when Xue Xihe realizes something is wrong, she closes her eyes and pretends not to know.
Instead, she holds his lean waist tighter, buries her face against his chest, and keeps inhaling his scent, choosing to turn a blind eye.
After all, he is the first love she loves most.
She can’t let him get another chance to leave her again.
2.
Yiqing has drifted for years without a physical form. At last, in a hospital, he obtains the body of a man who has died of illness.
The price is that he must fulfill the man’s wish: go see his ex-girlfriend one last time, and act like her real boyfriend so their youthful love story can have a perfect ending.
From the moment they first meet, Yiqing hates this woman’s eyes, which are far too bright. She always wears a radiant smile and clings to him, calling him by the human man’s name again and again.
For some reason, he can’t push her away.
At what point did Yiqing begin to hate hearing her say the human man’s name?
He doesn’t know why. Has he fallen in love with Xue Xihe, who is still in love with that human man?
He isn’t human. All he can do is helplessly face these surging emotions, trying to struggle free and escape this “variable” in his life.
That night, Yiqing slowly kneels down.
His fingertips gently stroke Xue Xihe’s sleeping face. “Was there ever a moment when the person in your mind wasn’t the two of you in the past, but the... me standing right in front of you?”
He expressionlessly extends his tentacles and coils them around Xue Xihe’s neck, yet tears suddenly fall to the floor.
He can’t kill her.
All he can do is beg her to love him.

1. Both are virgins, and the male lead is completely pure!!! The heroine isn’t a traditional “good girl”; she has had other boyfriends. This isn’t a story about a powerful, independent woman. The romance is the main focus, and the plot serves the romance!
2. A little wish fulfillment and melodrama, with no rigorous logic. Slow burn, slow burn. They gradually become intensely devoted to each other. Neither lead has much of a moral compass, and both are extremely possessive. Includes forced love.
3. The male lead is completely nonhuman, and thinks in a nonhuman way, but he tries to be gentle.
