The Prince of Chu suddenly changed his ways and, in just a few years, rebelled and declared himself emperor. He was ruthless, sparing no one, and slaughtered all his friends and family.
Few people knew that this man was named Yan Guifan, and that he was an impostor.
The real Prince of Chu, Yan Guiyu, had been imprisoned from the start, reduced to a secret bedmate he could never let the world see.
Yan Guiyu’s response was: To hell with you. If I’m going down, we’re both going down!
So they died together, then were both reborn. This time, the tables had turned. Yan Guiyu had Yan Guifan imprisoned; he manipulated the court officials Yan Guifan had once used; he meddled in court politics and fought for power; he pushed Yan Guifan to the brink, driving him close to a breakdown.
In desperation, Yan Guifan blurted out something outrageous: “Can you stop messing with me? How about a deal? If you agree, I’ll be your adviser by day and sleep with you at night!”
Yan Guiyu: Hard to refuse.jpg.
So the two longtime enemies reluctantly called a truce. They kept hurting each other in their usual fashion while working together to win the succession struggle.
As they worked, Yan Guiyu discovered a few things.
For example, his father had always wanted him dead, his mother had never stopped trying to kill him, and his brothers saw him as nothing more than a pawn.
Even if Yan Guifan hadn’t acted, he would still have had to go to war with these people.
Exhausted in body and mind, Yan Guiyu lifted every restriction he had placed on Yan Guifan and told him, “Go. I don’t hate you anymore.”
Then he drank himself into a stupor and passed out.
He never expected that when he opened his eyes again after drowning himself in drink, the young man who should have run away would be holding both wrists out to him.
Yan Guifan: Don’t abandon me, Your Highness. I haven’t slept with you enough yet.
Yan Guifan spaced out during a university lecture. When he looked up, he realized he had traveled back to ancient times and become the spitting image of a prince with a truly tragic ending.
If he wanted to go home, he had to make this man emperor.
As the saying goes, instead of pushing your kid to succeed, push yourself. Yan Guifan decided to compete for the throne himself, then hand it over to the prince.
He never expected to get carried away. Not only did he fail to get home, he turned a sweet, innocent man into a twisted villain. Then they both died and started over.
At first, of course, he hated him. He hated that the prince had made him unable to return home; he hated that the prince hadn’t just stayed useless; and most of all, he hated that the prince could stand up for himself now, so why hadn’t he done it sooner?
Then he saw Yan Guiyu’s tears.
Yan Guifan suddenly realized that he was crying too.
* The top and bottom look identical. Happy ending, an intense love-hate relationship, with plenty of mutual insults and brawling.
* Twisted love, a perfect match of two equally messed-up people. 1v1, they’re endgame, mutually exclusive, each other’s first love, with no side characters having one-sided crushes on either of them.
* Blurb revised on 2026.5.13.

Wen Zhuoci and Mu Dongqing were leaders of the righteous and demonic factions. They met as teenagers, fell out as young adults, and now led their disciples in daily battles against each other, hating one another with every fiber of their being.
Then, after one battle, Mu Dongqing lost his memory.
Wen Zhuoci looked at his sworn enemy, who was treating him like an old friend and leaping all over him like a monkey, and felt a headache coming on.
Still, headaches aside, the younger Mu Dongqing wasn’t as infuriating as he would later become. He would look at Wen Zhuoci with shining eyes and quietly ask, “What are we to each other now?”
Wen Zhuoci had a different idea.
He told Mu Dongqing, “We’re cultivation partners now. The kind who sleep together every night.”
At first, everything went smoothly. Mu Dongqing’s memories were stuck at eighteen. He would stomp his feet when he lost a sword duel to Wen Zhuoci, pretend to cry when Wen Zhuoci punished him by making him copy books, and behave sweetly when they kissed.
Wen Zhuoci almost forgot they had ever fallen out.
Until a disturbance broke out, and Mu Dongqing changed sides on the battlefield and stabbed him.
Wen Zhuoci made his way through the sea of flames, blood spilling from his mouth as he asked, “When did you remember?”
Mu Dongqing smiled and asked in return, “I have a question for you too. In all these years, when exactly did we ever sleep together?”
