1v1, mildly frightening (entire story completed and saved)
Mist Mountain is shrouded in fog and buried in snow all year round. It is a national nature reserve in the northern country of Gadostel.
It is hardly a suitable place for a graduation trip, and is downright dangerous, but for young people who fear nothing, it offers the ultimate challenge.
The mountain's weather changes without warning. A sudden blizzard was all it took to separate the group.
Their signal was intermittent. Jim, who had organized the trip, was growing anxious. Fortunately, one of the separated group members seemed to have found a warm wooden cabin buried in snow, where they could take shelter.
The hunters' cabins in the mountains were permanent structures. Once they made it down and found some villagers, they could rescue their companion.
Jim led the remaining members of the group through a difficult trek, and two days later they finally encountered a local forager.
But after hearing his story, the old man frowned and said there were no hunters on the mountain.
"Mist Mountain is dangerous, not just for tourists like you, but for us locals too."
"The temperature changes wildly up there, and people go missing all the time. Even the police can't find them."
The old man's expression grew grave. "Some say there's a murderer hiding up there. Others say it's a yeti. Either way, any unfamiliar cabin on that mountain is bound to be bad news."
Jim was stunned.
In a panic, he pulled up the message the missing group member had sent two days earlier.
[I found a wooden cabin, and there's a light on. Thank goodness, it must belong to a hunter up here. My phone's almost dead, so we'll get in touch later.]
Jim stared at the message and felt cold all over.
He grabbed his phone and frantically tapped out a reply: [Run! That's not a hunter's cabin!]
