Fake forced-love-and-abduction trope
Both leads are mutually obsessed
They save each other
Happy ending
A seemingly straightforward, puppy-like male lead who is actually a possessive yandere and a shapeshifting spirit, paired with a powerful, free-spirited female wilderness photographer who loves novelty and animals and has hyperthymesia.
On the first day she meets She Jiayu, Ji Zhuiguang touches him from head to toe.
It is only when she routinely organizes her memories that she discovers that her gorgeous new neighbor is actually a shapeshifting spirit!
The day before yesterday he was a cat, yesterday he was a dog, and sometimes he's a very well-mannered little hamster.
But the people around them are fooled by the spirit's illusion. They can't see him clearly or remember him, and instinctively treat him like an animal.
How interesting, how very interesting!
I should take my time figuring him out, not open the whole mystery box at once.
Shh, quietly now. Don't let the spirit know you can remember him!
But the spirit finds out anyway.
The spirit excitedly wags his tail!
"You really, really can remember me?" She Jiayu's eyes sparkle like a puppy's.
Ji Zhuiguang is still wary. Humans are far more frightening than animals, who have no hidden motives!
But the spirit is already clinging to her, investigating her and following her, all the way to a tent in the middle of nowhere. Then he gazes up at her and asks, "Can I be your ATM, your model, and your puppy?"
But, "If a stray dog follows me home, does that mean I have to keep it?" Ji Zhuiguang says coolly. "I get bored of things very quickly."
She Jiayu has been tormented by his uncontrollable supernatural power, until he meets her. I've found her, my anchor.
Just being friends isn't enough. I want to be your one and only partner, your best companion, the one you always look at. Please don't abandon me.
How do you keep hold of the free wind?
Turn into a dog and place the leash in her hands, begging her to be a good owner;
Turn into a cat, tease her casually with your tail, then meow sweetly to grant her permission to stroke you;
Turn into an elephant to shelter her from wind and rain, then turn into a little snake and coil around her wrist.
But, but, why did you still abandon me?
Was I not new and exciting enough for you?
From now on, every cat you meet will be me, every bird will be me, every kind of creature will be me. Darling, can you recognize me this time?
