Step Aside, I Really Have Someone Backing Me

Ten years after her death, Wang Weixian returned to the age of seventeen, intending to get a temporary job at the Jingzhao Prefecture office and scrape by.

.

Bad news: she had lost all her memories.

.

Good news: her aunt was doing well for herself. She was serving as the fourth-rank Deputy Prefect of Jingzhao and could get her a job.

.

Heh, someone's got connections upstairs!

.

Wang Weixian was still a little worried. “Auntie, won't people use this to attack you?”

.

Her aunt told her not to worry. “Our relationship is rock-solid!”

.

Wang Weixian was dubious. “Really...?”

.

Her aunt's real name wasn't Auntie Wang, of course, but many years ago, plenty of people had called her Auntie.

She hadn't been born with the surname Wang, either. Born in the palace's rear quarters, she knew nothing of her origins and had only one name: Ruyi.

The Empress happened to meet her and, impressed by her diligence in study and her loyalty, bestowed her own surname upon her.

.

Ten years after the former Empress, later known as Empress Dowager Zhaoming, passed away, the Son of Heaven summoned Auntie Wang to the palace.

“She used to protect us. Now it's our turn to protect her.”

Please note before reading:

1. The heroine is the center of the world. This is a feel-good story with a touch of Mary Sue.

2. The heroine loved her former husband, the late emperor, and they shared a loving life in her previous existence. There is no melodramatic, painful romance or misunderstanding.

3. But that doesn't stop her from having a new romance after coming back from the dead. Please don't read if you can't accept that.

4. An independent worldbuilding setting, with an untamed imagination.
