Sky Screen: I Become a Tyrant in a World of Hopeless Romantics

Qin Yunzhou transmigrates and realizes he's ended up in the world of a short-form drama, where he is surrounded by people with brains consumed by love.

Unwilling to let the people of Great Sheng be ruined by this bunch of love-struck idiots, he prepares to shoulder the burden of the empire and rolls up his sleeves, ready to get to work.

Suddenly, a sky screen appears.

Qin Yunzhou: So I can just win without lifting a finger?

[Speaking of the Sheng dynasty, it was an age of demons and monsters, a chaotic dynasty. If Emperor Shengde Shenwu hadn't made his dazzling debut, Sheng would have followed in the footsteps of dynasties that fell after just two generations.]

[A great man sent from heaven, the savior Emperor Shenwu. Before Emperor Shengde Shenwu took the throne, the Sheng dynasty's imperial family and officials were so consumed by romance, they might as well have been brainless.]

The imperial family and officials: Who? Who are you calling brainless?

[According to Emperor Shengde Shenwu's memoirs, the Crown Prince, the Third Prince, and the Fourth Prince spent their days acting out scenes with Liu Ruyan, the daughter of a minister: "Do you love me? Who do you love?" As a result, they neglected disaster relief during the Yellow River flood.]

[The Second Prince wiped out his consort's family for the sake of his mistress, creating one of the Sheng dynasty's most notorious miscarriages of justice.]

[The Chancellor's wife turned her biological daughter into a human pig to benefit her adopted daughter, causing an uproar across the country. A new top scorer from the countryside sued a princess for stealing his wife.]

Everyone: Wait, why would anyone write memoirs like that? They made us a laughingstock for generations to come.

[After Emperor Shengde Shenwu ascended the throne, commoners could afford meat at all three meals. Students from poor families could attend school for free, and farmers no longer had to pay agricultural taxes...]

[Gold and silver from overseas flowed endlessly back to Great Sheng. Through colonial expansion, it became an empire on which the sun never sets. Attached: Map of Great Sheng.jpg]

The scenes displayed on the sky screen were intoxicating: full ears of wheat bent the stalks, enormous three-hundred-jin pigs stood beside the rice paddies, and a smooth concrete road wound all the way to the academy, where students studied diligently.

The view drifted into the distance, where soldiers fought with rifles and cannons, invincible; ship after ship at sea was loaded with gold and silver...

Everyone: Your Majesty, why not abdicate?
