When Xie Lian wakes up, he finds himself in the modern world a thousand years in the future.
While searching for San Lang, he encounters the Wind Master, who still looks just as he did back then. They travel together and witness the bizarre predicaments of the ghosts and gods of the present day.
Never mind Gu Zi and Qi Rong's daily ghost-training routine in the mountains. Xie Lian simply cannot understand how He Xuan is willing to let the Wind Master bring him back to his maze-like home.
Even after learning that a pair of blood-red eyes is watching him from behind, General Pei Ming can still calmly wave to the Rain Master, who is watering flowers on the other side of the fence.
As for San Lang, Xie Lian picks up little bits and pieces about him along the way. Xie Lian has been looking for him, and San Lang seems to know it. Yet somehow, he can stand to wait instead of showing up at once.
But whether it is San Lang, whom Xie Lian hugs on tiptoe, or San Lang, who holds him and soothes him to sleep, he is still Xie Lian's San Lang.
- The main characters are from Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's novel Heaven Official's Blessing. Their portrayals are faithful to the original, but this story's plot is unrelated to the original setting.
