Little Daiyu has a secret.

Her mother dies, and she leaves her father to travel to the capital. The moment she meets her cousin, he makes a scene and smashes the jade he treats as his very life.

At night, afraid of waking anyone, she only lets tears gather at the corners of her eyes and presses her lips together. Then she hears a faint voice beside her:

“Miss, what has upset you?”

She turns and sees a boy in fine clothes, still quite young.

From then on, Daiyu has a spirit following her.

He appears only at night, but always takes her side.

The Ninth Prince, Jingchuan, has a secret.

A high fever leaves him delirious, and he fails to reach the underworld. Instead, he hears someone crying.

He opens his eyes and sees a young girl weeping with worry.

“Miss, what has upset you?”

He asks, and she looks back at him with eyes as precious as pearls and jade.

Some strange force draws him, and from then on, he always finds himself three steps behind her.

And he is content.
