In 2xxx, many people mutated overnight, killing one another and eating human flesh.

If Wan Yingli hadn't transmigrated in time, she would have either starved to death or become someone else's food.

After transmigrating back to the Ming Dynasty, she discovered that many things were completely different from what she had known.

But the terrifying thing was, she found that mutants existed here too, and they were even more intelligent.

To uncover the truth, she sailed across the ocean aboard a great ship and arrived in a place called Xijing.

There, she finally discovered the secret behind the mutants.

[The heroine has only one lifetime, and her appearance never changes. The hero is Zheng He in his first life and Zhu Jianshen in his second.]

The true meaning of invention is to discover the Ming Dynasty.

When we discover the Ming Dynasty, we will learn many astonishing secrets.

What caused the Ming Dynasty to fall?

Some say it was because, in the late Ming period, the inner cabinet and the eunuchs fought for power, officials were corrupt, and the people suffered.

Others say it was because Chongzhen was diligent but stubborn and suspicious, frequently changing the inner cabinet, alienating his officials and leaving the court unable to govern the country effectively.

Still others say it was because the climate grew abnormal during the Little Ice Age at the end of the Ming Dynasty. The north suffered droughts and locust plagues year after year, crops failed, and refugees were everywhere.

All these factors combined to leave the Great Ming Dynasty too sick to recover, beyond saving.

But is that really true?

Could the truth be far more complicated? Could the fall of the Ming Dynasty still be affecting us today?

"If only the Flying General of Longcheng were here, the northern horses would never cross the Yin Mountains."

What did the northern barbarians really look like? Were they truly like the ones shown in television dramas?

"In a hundred battles, our armor is stained with yellow sand. We will not return until Loulan is conquered!"

Loulan appears in many ancient poems. Even after the kingdom of Loulan was destroyed, many poets still wrote of conquering it. Why?

This story features demons and monsters and is entirely fictional.

Theme: Evil will never triumph over good, and the Way of Heaven endures forever.
