At nineteen, Jiang Huaiyue returned to China to deal with the estate his elders had left behind. While sorting through their belongings, he found his father's diary.
In its pages, he saw his father's entire life.
His father, Jiang Wenxing, had once been a top-tier star in the entertainment industry. Wherever his name appeared, chaos followed, with fans from different camps fighting tooth and nail.
He died of a drug overdose at thirty-eight. Doctors had said that his emotions had been difficult to control that year, and his memories were badly confused. He often hallucinated, so he kept increasing his dosage, which led to tragedy.
Only then did Jiang Huaiyue learn that his father had suffered from depression for many years.
Tears soaked the paper. Holding the diary, Jiang Huaiyue made a birthday wish: he wanted to go back to before any of it had happened.
And then, he really did return to the first page of his father's diary.
(Most of the story is told from the son's perspective.)
(The full manuscript is complete. It's an old draft from the year before last, and I'm revising it as I update.)
