Updates follow the rankings / every other day. Laid-back girl x green-tea cat
After graduating from college, Chen Xiaohan started delivering takeout. Life was quiet and uneventful, until--
A world-shaking upheaval suddenly rocked her life.
Not only did she keep running into horrific cases in every neighborhood, she was also dragged into the painted walls.
From then on, she began searching for the truth, easing the resentment of victims, building a harmonious society, and protecting world peace.
No, no, that's a little too grand. Chen Xiaohan is determined to be a couch potato.
No matter how the scenes inside the painted walls changed, Chen Xiaohan stayed perfectly calm, waiting for the truth to come to her. But then she unexpectedly got an adorable orange cat. The little cat was extremely enthusiastic about solving cases, looking here and there, and finding the truth in no time.
[Handsome young man kills a girl in a fit of passion. What's behind high school puppy love? Is being underage a get-out-of-jail-free card?]
[Two women fight over one man? Former best friends brawl for love? Wedding turns into a funeral in an instant!]
[Popular female author dies unexpectedly. Her insurance payout is worth tens of millions! Is her husband the last beneficiary?]
[Seventy-year-old refuses to retire and brutally murders his ten-year-old grandson? Even a tiger won't eat its cubs. Where is the humanity? Where is justice?]
With her max-combat-power kitty, Chen Xiaohan could go anywhere in the painted walls as if there were no obstacles.
Hey, as a good young person in a socialist society, what should you do when you encounter wrongdoing?
Of course, you call the police.
Chen Xiaohan became a regular at the Special Affairs Bureau, where she was known as the bureau's ace detective.
The couch potato took on two jobs at once, becoming the most laid-back fish in the sea.
But why does the kitty disappear as soon as Chen Xiaohan returns to the real world? What a tragedy, what a sorrow.
Chen Xiaohan began looking forward to entering the painted walls, determined not to let anyone snatch her kitty first!
Meanwhile, a new neighbor recently moved in next door to Chen Xiaohan.
They had a broad forehead, delicate features, a high nose bridge, and a lovely voice. Those affectionate eyes especially struck Chen Xiaohan right in the heart. But why did they look a little familiar? Before Chen Xiaohan could make a move, the other person kept wandering around her again and again.
"I've never met a girl as wonderful as you. It's a shame you already have a boyfriend."
"I can't control my feelings. Can we still be ordinary friends?"
"Sis, will you be with me? I definitely won't be like certain people who can't recognize a good thing when they see it."
Reader's Guide

2. The male lead is a cat in most of the instances. He competes for her attention and gets jealous, a real green tea.
3. The painted walls were inspired by Pu Songling's Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. The name is borrowed, but the setting is original.
4. Not scary, not a mystery.
