I Remarried My Husband's Comrade (The 1980s)

Luo Mei's husband died, and his greatest worry before his death was for her. He feared that people would bully her, and that her greedy family would sell her off. As he lay dying, he entrusted her to his good brother, a man with whom he'd shared life and death.

His good brother had been injured when he was young and would never have children. He and Luo Mei would be just right for each other as companions for life.

Luo Mei was timid by nature. The only time she found courage in her life was when she overheard her parents planning to marry her off to an old man in the mountains, and stopped her husband, who had returned home on leave from the army.

After they married, her husband doted on her as if she were his whole world, making her believe that the future could be bright. But their good days didn't last long. Her husband died of his injuries.

Luo Mei felt as if the sky had fallen. For a time, she wanted to follow her husband in death. But the day before he passed away, one bowl of wine made her another man's woman...

Wen Sheng owed someone his life. His good brother had taken a bullet for him and was on the brink of death. Before he died, he entrusted Wen Sheng with the wife he'd married less than two years earlier.

Wen Sheng knew his good brother's wife, the woman his friend had spent all his savings to marry. She was weak, timid, indecisive, and useless in every way, with only her face going for her.

Wen Sheng had always felt she was a huge burden. If it weren't for her, his good brother wouldn't have skimped on food and everything else to the point of not even buying himself a pair of underwear. At the thought of having to live just like his friend, Wen Sheng frowned so hard his brows nearly knotted. But he couldn't refuse his dying friend's request, so he planned to agree for now and treat her like an elder sister and mother, with all due respect.

Who could have guessed his good brother would take things so far? One bowl of wine brought Wen Sheng and the woman together, and after that...

The person Wen Sheng was most grateful to in his life was his good brother.
