Greedy x easily contented
A melodramatic story about unrequited love, marriage first, then... maybe love, who knows, jumping off a building, dying for love, amnesia, loving even after death... (Read the warnings.)
Amateur writing, flat characters, and some robotic prose.
Looking at the words “Marriage Agreement” in black and white, Lin Heqing's head began to buzz.
How did something this melodramatic happen to me?
The person joining her in the graveyard of marriage was He Cuimo.
Her... junior.
Lin Heqing was certain He Cuimo liked her.
Not that Lin Heqing was particularly clever or narcissistic...
He Cuimo was just terrible at hiding it. His ears would turn red at the drop of a hat, he'd occasionally say something suggestive, and he always seemed to know just how to get along with her...
This was going to be the death of her...
If you asked why He Cuimo fell for Lin Heqing, everyone else seemed to think it was only natural to love her.
But He Cuimo always felt there was something wrong with the way he had fallen for Lin Heqing.
They were a year apart in high school, complete strangers with nothing in common. They should have just crossed paths and gone their separate ways in peace.
He Cuimo didn't like how Lin Heqing was so nice to everyone, always smiling and eager to help. It wasn't that he thought she was putting on an act, because he believed that was just who she was. But every now and then, when he saw Lin Heqing staring blankly into the crowd, he would think: Don't you ever get tired?
Yet somehow, all his sensitivity to other people's emotions was spent on Lin Heqing. One inexplicable “nightmare” made him start watching her, observing her.
Lin Heqing, so it was all an act.
You were only pretending to be nice to people, to smile, to be helpful.
You were a complete self-serving individual, someone who would never put anyone but herself first.
Should I call you a bad person?
Have any of the things you've done actually hurt anyone?
While you're looking out for yourself, haven't other people benefited too?
Even if you put on an act, doesn't that still make you who you are?
Lin Heqing, I can't figure you out...
“Miss Lin, it's a pleasure to meet you.”
“Sorry, I'm allergic to cigarette smoke.”
“Is it good? Auntie Zhang made everything. If you like it, she'll be so happy ^ω^”
He Cuimo had always thought he was hiding his feelings well, until...
Lin Heqing clenched her white teeth, bursting the capsule in her cigarette. The herbal flavor, mingled with smoke, blew straight into He Cuimo's face.
“Junior, I'm hungry. Make me a bowl of noodles, will you? The seafood noodles I had the day before yesterday, okay~”
Well, there went her image.
“He Cuimo, are you miserable being with me?”
“I'm happier than anything else.”
Falling in love with someone is a personal matter.
The one who falls first is always the one at a disadvantage...
Warning: If you can't stand seeing the male lead suffer, don't read this. He doesn't have any particularly outstanding qualities, and he isn't very happy either.
The heroine is not a good person in the traditional sense.
