Qu Yuan has been He Suxiao's secretary for five years.
At twenty-six, she has endured all the hardships of life and the workplace that He Suxiao has brought her. She decides to shift her focus and seriously pursue a relationship, hoping to get married and change jobs.
To that end, she carefully lays out a few rules for choosing a partner: 1. No one in consulting, because the industry makes people weird. 2. No returned overseas elites or senior executives, because they love themselves more than women do, which is to say they're more narcissistic. 3. No one within He Suxiao's social circle, because she never wants to have any contact ever again with that fussy, narcissistic, germophobic, severely obsessive-compulsive man.
When they hear that Secretary Qu is looking for a boyfriend, her coworkers all offer ideas and dig out their best candidates.
He Suxiao hears about it, nitpicks every suggestion, and unleashes his sharp tongue: Her standards can be a lot higher.
But a rumor gets started when three people repeat the same story.
Coworker A: Suxiao says none of them are good enough for Secretary Qu.
Coworker B: Suxiao says at least someone like him would do.
Coworker C: Suxiao's panicking! He's going to pursue Secretary Qu!
The rumor reaches Qu Yuan.
Terrified, she shivers, pulls up her keyboard, drafts a resignation letter, and rejects him.
After learning the whole story, He Suxiao sits expressionlessly in the office after she leaves, radiating a chilling aura.
He never meant it that way.
But the more he thinks about it...
the more indignant he gets.
Anyone else, fine, but how could Secretary Qu, who has seen all his good qualities firsthand, be like this?
A story about Suxiao, a man whose life is a series of triumphs, and how someone else (poor Qu Yuan) lets a golden opportunity slip away, only for him to stubbornly win himself a wife.
Theme: Don't judge people by their appearance. Treat them with sincerity.
