Xiao Feiyu stayed up all night reading a tragic novel and was so furious he slapped his thigh. The poor stand-in cannon-fodder character had the exact same name as him. He was treated as a substitute, pushed down the stairs, and died in despair. What a miserable, humiliating end. Xiao Feiyu immediately complained, "If it were me, I’d lie flat and give up completely. Whoever wants to be someone’s substitute can do it themselves!"
The next morning, he woke up in a hospital with Huo Qiming, the very "culprit" who had pushed him down the stairs, standing beside him. Xiao Feiyu’s mind raced, and he immediately pretended to have amnesia.
"Who are you? Doctor, this man is violent!"
Huo Qiming knew he was in the wrong and could only accept it. He’d been planning to move out, but now he ended up moving back in to take care of his "amnesiac" patient. Xiao Feiyu let himself go completely. He stopped pretending to be gentle and domestic, stopped acting like a devoted lover, slept in every day, ordered takeout, played video games, and had just one thing to say to Huo Qiming: "I’m giving up."
As Huo Qiming took care of this pampered little tyrant, he couldn’t help wondering: Why is he so different from before? The more time they spent together, the more Huo Qiming realized that Xiao Feiyu wasn’t any kind of substitute. He was a pampered little tyrant through and through!
By the time Xiao Siming, Huo Qiming’s first love, returned to the country, Huo Qiming had already fallen completely. All he thought about was how to make Xiao Feiyu happy. Xiao Feiyu lay back and enjoyed himself, secretly laughing. He’d said he’d give up for a year and then run away, so how had he ended up being truly loved?
So, sometimes a tragic ending can turn into a happy one if you just give up and let things happen.
Theme: Even when things go terribly wrong from the start, keep looking on the bright side.
