Through Wind and Snow [Sentinel-Guide]

Love-struck, gentle sentinel gong x naturally unconventional guide shou

A major research accident breaks out at the institute. All the data vanishes overnight, and the whereabouts of the researchers and test subjects are unknown. Six months later, Song Lanqing, the only conscious test subject inside the Tower who can be controlled, is sentenced to death.

A reprieve notice and a personnel transfer application later, the captain of Team Two, whom he'd only ever seen on the Tower's news, appears before him. The condemned man is suddenly an active member of the Combat Division, the youngest guide on the team.

He has no spirit form and can't perform mental guidance, yet he can suppress an entire group of sentinels. The man in question merely says, "Sentinels are too fragile."

From wariness and mistrust to favor and confidence, Song Lanqing becomes like a wildcat that's been tamed. When they first meet, he's taciturn and alert to everything around him. Later, he follows Shen Zhaomian around, obediently calling him "Captain," and grows into someone spoiled and temperamental. Shen Zhaomian hasn't even finished calming down before Song Lanqing gets mad himself.

His first taste of freedom feels like being reborn. The world beyond the Tower is a delightful place.

But the death sentence hasn't been revoked, and the research institute hasn't been destroyed. The pain of the past isn't coming back. It never left.

Elements:

* Sentinel-guide setting with major changes and original headcanons

* 1v1, handsome gong and beautiful shou, six-year age gap, both strong, slow-burn, nurturing relationship.

* Gong is physically powerful, shou has powerful mental abilities. Shou is a guide who is powerful in every sense of the word, and outclasses every sentinel in the book in combat.

* Written for the author's tastes. The author loves hurt/comfort and injured characters.

* The couple is forever. No separating or reversing the ship, and no feminizing the beautiful gong.

* Important! There are many scenes focused on friendship. Supporting characters may be paired as sentinel-guide or guide-sentinel, but their romantic relationships won't be described in detail in the main story. Please take that into consideration.
