The Beauty Offered as a Sacrifice

Ye Jingxi transmigrates into the body of a dancing girl whom the prefect is using to curry favor with Lu Hanjiang, Commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard. She is also afflicted with a deadly poison, and ends up spending a night with Lu Hanjiang.

Lu Hanjiang is a powerful man. To the outside world, he raises his cup with the local officials, but behind the scenes, murderous plots are afoot. Caught in an awkward position, Ye Jingxi refuses to be used as a pawn by either side and begs Lu Hanjiang to let her go.

Lu Hanjiang dangles the promise of freeing her from her lowly status, keeping her by his side as a target.

But once his plan succeeds, Lu Hanjiang breaks his word, forcibly bundling her into a carriage with the intention of taking her to the capital, where she will be his captive concubine.

Seeing his cold and selfish nature for what it is, Ye Jingxi escapes.

At first, Lu Hanjiang is merely sent by the emperor to secretly investigate the Hu tribes in Jinzhong.

He never expects the local officials to offer him a stunning dancing girl.

One glance is all it takes for Lu Hanjiang to take an interest in her.

So what if someone else planted her as a spy? Once he gets rid of her master, he will be her new master.

So what if she refuses to obey? Whatever Lu Hanjiang wants, he will keep firmly in his grasp.

But Lu Hanjiang never imagined that Ye Jingxi would actually run away!

Lu Hanjiang sneers. “So what if she fled? There’s nowhere in this vast land that the Embroidered Uniform Guard can’t find.”

A little scene:

He finds Ye Jingxi again on a stormy night, in a dilapidated temple that leaks from every side.

Wrapped in a straw raincoat, she watches in terror as Lu Hanjiang, dressed in his distinctive embroidered uniform, strides through the puddles toward her like a demon from hell.

He lifts Ye Jingxi’s chin with the cold hilt of his blade and says, one word at a time:

“I’ve found you.”
