Time and again, Jiang Li watched Shen Jue and Li Lang, his childhood sweetheart and lover, happily going to and from classes together on campus.
A dark emotion called jealousy began to sprout in Jiang Li's heart, but in the end, he still didn't have the courage to appear before Shen Jue.

On the way to find his parents, he lost his eyesight, making his already difficult situation even worse. Fortunately, his fiance, Li Lang, stayed by his side and never treated him like a burden...
But one day, he met an ability user named Jiang Li, and everything changed. Somehow, Li Lang had to leave to save his parents, and in his place came a powerful ability user named Jiang Li.
Clever as he was, Shen Jue quickly accepted reality. If he wanted to heal his now-blind eyes and reunite safely with his parents, he had no choice but to cling tightly to Jiang Li, his one sturdy lifeline.
(Shen Jue and Li Lang were only betrothed by their families as children. They have no romantic feelings for each other and simply grew up together.)
