Shen Xu, the ultimate overworked corporate drone, almost works himself into the hospital.
To save his own life, he grits his teeth and quits his high-paying job, applying for an eccentric assistant position instead:
To look after a new streamer living in the middle of nowhere, whose videos are all about "a peaceful life and a tranquil world."
The day his application is accepted, he thinks he's landed an easy job where he can get paid to do nothing.
On his first day, he stares at the wood-burning stove, lost in thought.

The streamer, Lu Shiyan, watches as his laid-back videos change completely. The comments go from "So soothing" to "Hahahahahaha, did the assistant blow up the kitchen again today?"
Lu Shiyan sighs and picks up the wok spatula. "...Let me do it."
Shen Xu watches the streamer tie on an apron and move with effortless grace, stunned. "Didn't you say you're a countryside lifestyle blogger?"
Lu Shiyan tosses the food in the pan and says coolly, "Yeah. Growing vegetables and raising pigs are part of life. Cooking is a talent."
Later, Shen Xu's daily routine changes from "looking after the streamer" to:
Getting fed by all the village elders because "poor Xiao Shen is so skinny";
Being nagged by a million livestream followers to post more, just so they can see which ingredient he sends to the ICU today;
And being penned in beside the stove by the man who originally only wanted to quietly raise pigs, then fed one bite at a time.
Lu Shiyan: "Open your mouth."
Shen Xu (munching): "...I think my retirement life has taken a bit of a wrong turn."
Lu Shiyan (continuing to feed him): "Not at all. This is sustainable development. I'll provide for the family, and you can... provide the comedy."
