But it wasn't an octopus. It was a monster, and it bit someone to death in Pei Wenchu's home.

When strangers came to attack it, Pei Wenchu didn't protect it, so it ran away and returned to the sea.

It was a failed sea monster, but it still missed Pei Wenchu.

When Xu Yi saw Pei Wenchu again, she was very unhappy.

But this time, Pei Wenchu wouldn't pick up an octopus or take in a human.

Xu Yi didn't know how to kiss, so she could only learn the most basic kind.

After kissing Pei Wenchu, perhaps because of human social etiquette, Pei Wenchu kissed her back. But it was very different from the kiss Xu Yi had initiated.

"Can we kiss again? Please?"

Then being honest

After Pei Wenchu saw through her identity, Xu Yi didn't dare come clean. Pei Wenchu was the one who confessed first, and they discovered that they'd misunderstood each other in more ways than one.

Then coming together

Xu Yi thought things between her and Pei Wenchu were just right, so she planned to put off the final step indefinitely.

But to her surprise, years ago she'd bitten through an alpha's gland and absorbed their pheromones. It had caused her to mutate and enter a state similar to the human rut.

What a coincidence! There happened to be a real omega at home.
