Yezakura Sakiko is a Super High School Level Memory Master.

She has memorized countless numbers, formulas, and faces, yet she cannot remember what it feels like to be treated with kindness.

Until she meets Tsumiki Mikan.

They were both children abandoned by the world.

One fell silent beneath the shadow of domestic abuse; the other trembled in fear of bullying.

They both thought they would rot in the darkness, until they met each other.

At last, she understands: all the coldness and pain she has remembered were so that, in this moment, she could remember Mikan's kindness.

This is an IF timeline set during Tsumiki Mikan's middle school years. I'm a new writer, so please be patient with any shortcomings. Yezakura Sakiko is my original character. The later part of this story will connect to the main Danganronpa plot.

My portrayal of Tsumiki Mikan's experiences and behavior is mainly based on my analysis of her character and actions in the anime and games.

That day, I saved Tsumiki, who was being bullied. Despite being covered in bruises, she kept apologizing: "I'm sorry for causing trouble..."

I answered softly, "You're never the one at fault."

When the bullies started shouting again outside the door, she trembled as she stepped in front of me to protect me.

The moment I took her hand and fled to the infirmary, the gears of fate quietly meshed and began to turn, never to be stopped.

Later, as we spent day after day together, I belatedly realized that my heart had already begun to feel something different for her. I had fallen in love with her long ago.
