The bottom is sent to a secret research facility on an island, only to be devoured by the nonhuman fungal top that very day.
When he wakes again, it's already the next day, and he's become a living skeleton. Yet no one seems able to notice. To everyone else, he still looks like a normal person.
But there's one thing worth celebrating: the bottom has always loved fluffy animals, but for some reason they've never liked him. Now he's become a superstar among them.
Puppies, kittens, birds, even lions, tigers, and wolves, all flock to him. As they eagerly lick his finger bones, dense strands of mycelium seep out and suck on every inch of bone, yet still feel hungry.
The bottom enjoys the healing comfort of the fluffy animals and ignores the mycelium's antics. After all, he's just a skeleton, with no flesh for it to eat.
His indulgence only makes the nonhuman creature more and more brazen.
The single dorm room is completely sealed off beneath a dense layer of mycelium. The bottom closes the door and grimly asks his visiting friend to leave.
He reprimands the nonhuman creature and threatens to report it to his superiors and have it exterminated if it keeps staying here.
At last, the nonhuman creature behaves.
But then the bottom, who's been single for years, receives a bizarre notice telling him to pick up his husband.
He's a tall, handsome man with a sunny disposition.
On their first night back home, the husband sleeps soundly in the bedroom.
The bottom is pinned by the nonhuman top in front of the bathroom mirror and violated without restraint. His entire skeleton is sculpted by fine strands of mycelium, like a work of art, amid intimate gasps.
Forced to turn his face and look at himself in the mirror, the bottom realizes that his body is gradually becoming whole.
