While out looking for food one day, Bolu accidentally fell into a rift in space and time

Bolu: The city is full of tricks! I want to go back to the countryside! Puru puru~
As Bolu hurriedly fled, he never forgot his mission. Now he had a second one, too: stay alive and latch onto a powerful backer!
One night, Bolu was rescued by a pointy-eared monster (though the monster never even noticed him).
Look at that agile figure, those sharp lines... It's you! My powerful backer!
Bolu tried his best to keep up with his savior, but
Huh? His savior vanished in a flash. Bolu only saw a small bit of his savior's "tail" slowly disappearing into a sewer...
Bolu: ...A fellow slime?
Bolu: That quick camouflage, that way of slipping into the sewers... A senior expert! Wait for me, Bolu!

In the end, Bolu did latch onto a powerful backer.
Unfortunately, the backer didn't seem to be one of his kind...
But that was fine! His backer was willing to take him in! And there was a kind old gentleman who made him delicious pudding~
Bolu loved it here so, so much~
Hmm, his head feels itchy. Is he growing ears?
With a "poof," Bolu grew a pair of pointy ears and evolved into a bat slime!
Bolu: Senior! We're still family after all~ Puru puru~
Looking at the palm-sized little slime with bat ears on the dining table, the dark figure fell silent for a moment, then transformed into his true form!
Bolu (looking up): Senior... So you're not human either!
